about being vegan.
They say: “Well, what about all the ecological damage done by the agribusinesses that grow the plants that you eat?”
My response:
1. Eating meat supports those environmentally damaging agribusinesses too, because what do you think cows eat? And the water that goes to feed them? And the fossil fuels that go into the transporting of that meat around the country/world? A lot of food businesses are terrible for the environment. Across the board, where most of our meat comes from, factory farms are awful.
2. Paired with being vegan is a general consciousness about where my food comes from. So I try not to eat a lot of GMO soy, and palm oil and things like that that are bad for the environment. Eating locally is almost always the best. I try to eat whole foods (not like the grocery store but the actual food, unprocessed) and local foods.
Vegans think about where their food comes from too. I don’t just eat plastic and genetically modified soy products.
*sorry… ranting!*
